Ipupa began his musical journey in 1997 with the Kinshasa-based band Talent Latent. In 1999, he joined Koffi Olomidé’s esteemed Quartier Latin International, where he honed his craft for seven years. In 2006, he embarked on a solo career with the release of his debut album, Droit Chemin, which achieved gold status by selling over 100,000 copies within a month.
