Uwoya embarked on her professional journey in 2007, alongside prominent Bongo movie figures like Vincent Kigosi and Steven Kanumba, among others.
Early Life
Uwoya was born in Dodoma, Tanzania. She began her primary education at Mlimwa School before continuing at Bunge School in Dar es Salaam. Her secondary education took her to Greenville in Kampala, Uganda.
Personal Life
In 2008, Irene married Hamad Ndikumana, a Rwandan football player and captain of the Rwanda international selection, who sadly passed away. The couple welcomed a child named Krish in 2011 however, they later separated. Subsequently, in 2017, she entered into another marriage, this time with Abdulaziz Chande, a bongo flava musician known professionally as Dogo Janja.
Career
Irene Uwoya career journey includes a notable participation in the Miss Tanzania Beauty Pageant in 2006, where she secured the fifth position. The coveted title of Miss Tanzania 2006–2007 was claimed by Wema Sepetu.
Uwoya launched her acting career with Bongo Movies in 2007. Her filmography boasts over 20 movies, extending beyond the borders of Tanzania.
