Nyimbo Mpya za Zuchu

Zuchu, born Zuhura Othman Soud on November 22, 1993, in Zanzibar, Tanzania, is a prominent Tanzanian singer and songwriter. She is renowned for her contributions to the Bongo flava and Baibuda genres. Zuchu is signed to the WCB Wasafi record label, founded by Diamond Platnumz.

Early Life and Background

Hailing from a musical family, Zuchu mother, Khadija Kopa, is a celebrated taarab musician, and her father, Othman Soud, was a songwriter for the renowned TOT Band. This rich musical heritage significantly influenced her artistic journey.

Career Highlights

In 2020, Zuchu released her debut EP, “I Am Zuchu,” featuring seven tracks that showcased her versatility and talent. The EP received widespread acclaim, solidifying her position in the Tanzanian music industry.

Her single “Cheche,” featuring Diamond Platnumz, further propelled her career, earning her the Emerging Artist Award at the AFRIMMA Awards in November 2020. In 2024, Zuchu released her second album, “Peace and Money,” which includes collaborations with artists like Spyro and Yemi Alade.
